Weekly Meetings

The club meet at one weeknight per week. For the 'summer' months of May through August we meet for outdoor pond sessions. The other eight months, September through April, we meet indoors for pool sessions. See here for more details on the locations.

Pool Sessions

The club holds its weekly pool sessions on Tuesday evenings at Gracemount Leisure Centre between 8:00pm and 10:00pm, usually followed by a drink in the pub next door. All you really need to bring is your swimming kit and maybe a spare tee shirt for sitting around on the pool-side. If you have any of your own kit - boat, buoyancy aid, spray deck, helmet or paddles - feel free to bring it along though please ensure it is all clean. Otherwise, you will be able to borrow any kit you require. There is enough room for eight boats in the pool at a time so we run a system of 20 minute 'slots'. We rely on members bringing along enough boats each week and generally have enough, but the more the merrier. If you would like to bring along your own boat please feel free, though please ensure it is scrupulously clean - going as far as removing the air bags to hose out any crud trapped behind them.

There is always at least one qualified coach at each pool session both for safety and to provide assistance so it's usually possible to get some coaching in the pool - just ask! Pool sessions cost £3.00 for adults and £1.50 for juniors/unwaged. A full list of guidelines for use of the pool is available here. Pool sessions run from the first Tuesday in September through to the last Tuesday in April inclusive. For the months May through August we meet on Wednesdays evening, outdoors at musselburgh.

Pond Sessions

For the 'summer' (May through August) the club meets at Musselburgh Lagoon every Wednesday evening from 7:00pm through 'til 9:30 or so. There's also usually a drink in a local pub afterwards. On the last Wednesday of the month though, we travel a wee bit further out to the beach at Seacliff instead of the lagoons. These outdoor sessions run from the first Wednesday in May through to the last Wednesday in August inclusive. For the months September through May we meet on Tuesdays for Pool Sessions - see above.

We bring along the club trailer (though not to Seacliff) with all the club's boats and kit for folks to use, but there is susally a great deal of demand for this so please bring your own kit if you have any. We rely heavily on a rota of volunteers to load and unload the trailer and to tow it to the lagoon, if you can help out at all please contact Callum Anderson.

There will be at least one coach on duty.
