The official opening of Edinburgh Kayak Club’s new boat shed will take place on Saturday 22nd September at the new boat shed situated beside the pond near the main entrance of Craiglockhart Leisure and Tennis Centre, 177 Colinton Road, Edinburgh, EH14 1BZ. The event will commence at 1.30pm with ribbon cutting, speeches and photographs at 2.00pm, followed by an informal barbeque. The event is planned to end at 5.00pm.
Please let Mags know in advance if you do not want photographs taken of you / your children. Otherwise it will be assumed that you are okay with this. Any photographs taken may be shared on Social Media / EKC website / Scottish Paddler Magazine.
The new boat shed is a culmination of many years of work by a number of dedicated club members with support financially and / or otherwise from Sportscotland (Legacy 2014 Active Places Fund), the Scottish Canoe Association and the Edinburgh Airport Community Fund. The new shed is allowing us to expand the club’s activities and we have increased our membership and our capacity to introduce more local people to the pleasure and benefits of paddle sports. In case you have not seen, you can see below the huge difference between the old shed and the new shed.
