The club holds its weekly summer pond sessions on Wednesday evenings at Musselburgh Lagoons between 7pm and 9pm (from the first Wednesday in May through to the last Wednesday in August inclusive). On the last Wednesday of the month though, we organise an alternative trip details of which will be communicated via Facebook and email.
These sessions are open to all abilities including complete beginners. There is no need to book in advance so just turn up on the night.
We bring along the club trailer (except the last Wednesday of the month) with all the club's boats and kit for folks to use, but there is usually a great deal of demand for this so please bring your own kit if you have any. We rely heavily on a rota of volunteers to load and unload the trailer and to tow it to the lagoon, if you can help out at all please get in touch via email. There will always be at least one coach on duty.
These are NOT lifeguarded sessions and paddlers are responsible for their own safety. The duty coach is there to offer support and advice only and is not responsible for the safety of all on the water. It is also worth knowing that the park is a public shared space and there are no changing facilities or toilets.
Please note children attending must be accompanied by at least one responsible adult. This can be a parent, guardian or named guardian for the day.
All new members must fill in a membership form on their first night.
If you think you may have any additional needs with regard to participating in pond sessions, it will be helpful if you can contact us to discuss your needs prior to attending your first pond session. Please email our Equality and Diversity Champion: email@example.com
Pond sessions are free except for a charge for the hire of equipment where applicable:
