The long awaited official opening of Edinburgh Kayak Club’s new boat shed took place on Saturday 22nd September.

The event was well attended by club members of all ages and we were blessed with a beautiful sunny afternoon.

The official opening of Edinburgh Kayak Club’s new boat shed will take place on Saturday 22nd September at the new boat shed situated beside the pond near the main entrance of Craiglockhart Leisure and Tennis Centre, 177 Colinton Road, Edinburgh, EH14 1BZ. The event will commence at 1.30pm with ribbon cutting, speeches and photographs at 2.00pm, followed by an informal barbeque. The event is planned to end at 5.00pm.

Jeff Lowe, who sadly passed away in December 2015, was an active kayaker and canoeist in Edinburgh Kayak Club for many years and a dedicated member of the committee. Jeff was particularly keen to encourage club members to increase their experience and skills in coaching and leading and to gain relevant qualifications.
