11 paddlers gathered under grey skies at South Queensferry Tesco before the arranged start time of 930 (never have so many EKC members been early) for today's trip to the Lower Tummel. Obviously many people had believed the weather forecast as there were plenty of dazzlingly white legs on show. By the time we reached the river the clouds had lifted allowing a days paddling under cloud free blue skies and bright sunshine. We found our twelfth paddler who had also arrived early!! We then got to spend 4 hours playing our way down the river - eddies were caught, kayaks rolled, waves surfed, rapids run and rerun and the more bonkers members jumped off a bridge. All had gone well (apart from the bent paddle) until we reached slotty drop and s bend where a few interesting lines were observed, some took a gentle swim to cool down and a shoe was lost! This just left the final rapid at the Linn of Tummel which saw several successful stylish descents. Thanks for the awesome day everyone. See you all on the river soon. Just need to find the aftersun now!
